About Pure & Gentle Skincare

Pure and Gentle Skincare LLP is run by two mothers Deborah Mason and Lisa Clunie. They both live in Hampshire, UK, and have two daughters each - Sophie and Rebecca are aged 11, and Alice and Bethan are 8.

They also share a common skin problem - eczema - luckily only a mild form.

Deborah's eczema is mainly contact induced. But it was her daughter's (Alice) eczema that provided the main inspiration for the Pure and Gentle Skincare website. At 5 months old Alice developed severe atopic eczema. With the help and support of family and friends, the advice and treatment provided by health professionals and others, and Deborah's desire to learn as much as possible about eczema, Alice's skin condition is now under control. It is the knowledge Deborah has gained over the past 7 years that has been invaluable in bringing together a natural range of skincare products on one web site.

While Deborah had problems with Alice, Lisa on the other hand has very sensitive skin on her face. Many facial products aggravate her skin bringing eczema up on her face in patches. Certain creams would instantly react, even some make-up would cause irritation. From a teenager, Lisa has had to use non-perfumed products; she would often gain confidence in a product and then the manufacturer would change an ingredient without putting this on the packaging and she would experience a skin reaction. Now her eldest daughter, Rebecca aged 11, is also reacting to certain soaps and skincare products.

So when Deborah and Lisa met through their children and started talking to each other, they realised that skin problems such as eczema, sensitive/allergic skin, psoriasis and acne, are becoming more common, and looking after problem skin can be difficult. Even friends of theirs talked about their husbands and children having skin problems and the frustration of not knowing where to go for more naturally based products or products designed for these specific skin conditions.

Over the last couple of years, Deborah and Lisa have looked and researched different products and finally set up Pure and Gentle Skincare. Now people like themselves can have a choice of specialist products. Their skincare range covers everything from therapeutic silk undergarments, facial and body products to shampoos, conditioners and teenage products suitable for sensitive/allergic skin. Many contain a high proportion of natural and/or active ingredients, whilst others are free from some of the well-known skin irritants.

All of the products on the Pure and Gentle SkinCare web site have been tested by either Deborah, Lisa or one of their many army of testers . . . ordinary people like you.. They have also made it their policy to ensure that all ingredients, for every product are listed so you know exactly what you're buying before you place your order.
