The number of people living with psoriasis seems to be increasing with 2% of the UK Population being diagonised with this skin condition. People with psoriasis have skin that renews itself far faster than a non-sufferer. The skin of a non-psoriasis sufferer reproduces skin cells every 15-20 hours, however a person with psoriasis reproduces cells every 11 hours when they are rash-free, and every 3-6 hours when suffering an outbreak.

The skin can range from displaying inflamed red patches with dry scaly skin on the surface, that may or may not itch, to smooth dry areas which are red and inflamed but without scaling, to generalised reddening of the skin. Psoriasis can also affect the scalp causing red bumps, a flaky surface and even hard crusted patches.
