There doesn’t seem to be a clearly defined medical term for sensitive skin, but if you have sensitive skin, then you know only too well when your skin is sensitive as it will become more irritated, red and itchy. Some people find their skin is always sensitive, whilst others may find their skin sensitivity comes and goes.

If you have sensitive skin, then you probably know that some or all of the following can trigger a reaction: temperature changes, wearing wool or man-made fibres next to the skin, pollen spores, flowers and plants, exposure to everyday irritants at home or at work (perfumes, household detergents, chemicals), stress, pets, bathing or showering resulting in tight dry skin, reaction to skin care products and sun creams etc.
