Q. I don't seem to have time tto eat well as I'm 24/7 looking after my new baby and keep grabbing the nearest cake or packet of crisps! How can I eat healthily without it being time-consuming or difficult? Donna UK

A. Firstly purchase a blender and a steamer. Two of the most convenient, time saving pieces of equipment. With the blender you can make smoothies, which take about four minutes flat, are vitamin rich and provide you with energy. You can use frozen berries or mixed fruit, bananas whatever you like then add 2 spoonfuls of natural yoghurt and half a glass of water and blend together.

Steaming vegetables is much quicker and retains all nutrients and vitamins which can be depleted when boiled.

Other things you can do is make batches of soups and freeze them or have a selection of oatcakes, fruit and small bags of mixed nuts or a pot of yoghurt.

AND don't forget to drink plenty of water especially when breast feeding.
